As the week winds down, I’ve been thinking about something simple that gets overlooked in busy workplaces: appreciation.
Not the formal kind. Not the awards, the recognition programs, or the big announcements, but the small kind.
The quiet moments when you pause and say thank you.
Think about your week for a second.
Who made your workload a little lighter? Who stepped in without being asked?Who is quietly trying to dig themselves out of a rut? Who might need a simple “atta girl” or “atta boy” right about now?
Appreciation doesn’t need a ceremony.
It can be a quick Slack message. A short text. A sentence in a meeting that says, “Hey, I saw what you did there.”
Most people aren’t looking for a trophy. They’re looking to know that what they do matters.
And the truth is, those small moments travel farther than we think. They shift energy. They restore confidence. They remind people they’re not invisible.
Before the week closes out, take 30 seconds and send a note to someone on your team.
You might be the reason they walk into their weekend with a little more energy.
And that kind of leadership doesn’t take a lot of time. Just a little heart.
